Clearly if you follow my blog you may have noticed I missed a writing prompt yesterday.
Boy have I been busy!!
I had a sports medicine appointment yesterday morning for a tear in my right shoulder and then a follow-up with my neurologist for my MS this afternoon.
Expect a blog post about both experiences coming up later this week.
But I missed writinggg! So let’s get on with the prompt.
(Oh, and I hope you are off to a good week!)
Writing Prompt 16:
But that was not his real name
Veronia sipped her martini and leaned her back against the bar. While her friends made their way to the dance floor, she stared at him, sitting at a table across the room.
His hair was a mess and his tie was undone. The sleeves on his collared shirt were rolled up to his elbows. He looked exhausted.
And lonely.
And sexy as hell.
After finishing her drink, Veronica held her glass and walked to the stranger’s table.
“Anyone sitting here?” she asked, gesturing to the open seat with her glass.
He leaned back and grinned. “I was hoping you would.”
She sat down, placing her empty glass on the table.
“Another?” he asked.
“Are you buying?”
Laughing, he motioned for a server to bring a fresh martini to their table and then pulled his chair closer to her.
“I saw you watching me,” he whispered.
“I saw you watching me,” she replied.
“It’s hard not to stare at the prettiest girl in the room. I mean, come on… You in that red dress.”
Veronica bit her lip and introduced herself. “My friends called me Vee.”
“Pleasure to meet you, Veronica. I’m William Noble.”
But that was not his real name.
And that was also not the first time he would lie to Veronica.
