Happy Tuesday, world!

I had the BEST time coming up with an idea for today’s writing prompt. Sometimes it is just fun to write something light and easy. Hope this one gives you a smile!

Writing Prompt 13:

Hiding in the closet she found…

Tiana panicked, tossing the sheets off of her bed into the corner of her room. She knew he had to be somewhere in here.

“Tiana!” her mother called from the kitchen. “Breakfast is about ready!”

“Coming!” Tiana shouted back, bending over to search beneath her bed again.

Her mother was going to literally freak if she knew Tiana had lost him again.

Because this was not the first time.

Last time, her brother found him in the bathroom, and another time he was behind the living room couch. Tiana really did not want to be in trouble again.

“Where are you?” she whispered.

Pulling open her closet door, she sighed. How could she even begin to sort through this?

A sudden crash in her parent’s room caused her to jump back. Seriously?

“Tiana? Everything okay up there?”

“Yeah, Mom!” she hurried into their room, grateful her father was already at work. “Just dropped something!”

Her mother’s closet door was still ajar, and Tiana noticed a hat box had fallen to the floor. She scooped it up, and silently wished as she slid the lid all the way off.

“Max!” she breathed a sigh of relief. “What the heck little man?”

Scooping the hamster out and cuddling him to her chest, she told him it was breakfast time. Gently replacing him in his cage, she secured the lock and ensured he had plenty of water.

At the counter, she smiled at her mom as she placed a plate of eggs and bacon in front of her. Leaving Tiana to eat, her mother went upstairs to finish getting ready.

Tiana bit into her bacon, happy Max was safe and no one had to know anything ever went wrong.

“Tiana? Why is my hat box on the floor?”
